Yavette Shupe, a California native and mother tongue English speaker, also speaks Spanish, French, and Italian. She attended the prestigious “Universidad Iberoamericana”, a Jesuit University in Mexico City, Mexico with the recommendation of the Governor of Texas. There, she perfected her Spanish while she studied International Relations and International Business. During the 4 years she spent in the capital of Mexico, she volunteered for charitable causes in her free time and taught English to professionals and teachers.
After graduating from Iberoamericana University, she moved back to California where she started to work for Global Comm Inc. as an international accounts coordinator. Thanks to her degree coupled with her ability to teach English, she became responsible for Human Resources training in 13 countries. She was later promoted to the level of Vice-President of Sales. In this role she developed coaching competencies as a motivator; supporting both sales managers and employees. In 1997, at the age of 26, her hard work paid off and she was promoted to General Manager.
In 2002 she accepted an offer to become a regional manager of the MCI division of “World-Com, Inc”, a giant in telecommunications and VoIP.
In 2004, she quit her job, married her Italian fiancé, and moved to Calabria, Italy where she started to work with schools and public authorities in the field of Education and Training.
Later in 2017, she founded the social club "American Club Catanzaro" which promotes language studies and international cultural events.
She is currently a contract professor working with PhD students in the Life Sciences department at the Magna Græcia University in southern Italy and a motivational coach for teachers and professionals. Outside of the classroom, she also contributes as a recognised editor of published scientific articles.
She is part idealist, part pragmatist, forever curious, and extremely tenacious.
For JUMP she provides training sessions in "Coaching & Mentoring", CLIL, runs workshops on motivation and creativity, and also teaches English language courses, which she has always enjoyed.
She loves helping others, sharing her energy and enthusiasm, expanding people's knowledge and opening minds.
